Argent Fuels is part of Argent Energy, one of Europe’s leading producers of waste-based biodiesel. Founded in the UK more than 20 years ago, we pioneered large-scale commercial biodiesel production and continue to manufacture and supply renewable fuels for businesses across the UK and beyond.
We supply waste-based biodiesel, high-blend biodiesel, Dieselite and other biogenic fuels to customers across road transport, marine, rail, renewable energy production and energy-intensive industries.
With large-scale production facilities, nationwide supply capabilities and deep technical expertise, we help businesses reduce their reliance on fossil fuels without compromising on quality, reliability or service.
Turning waste into lower-carbon fuel
We specialise in transforming challenging waste oils and fats into high-quality fuels. By giving these materials a new purpose, we support a more circular economy while helping customers achieve immediate and measurable greenhouse gas reductions.
Our fuels are produced from certified waste-based feedstocks and supported by recognised certification, including ISCC and the Zemo Renewable Fuels Assurance Scheme. This provides independent assurance over feedstock sustainability, traceability and lifecycle greenhouse gas savings, giving customers reliable, auditable evidence to support their environmental reporting.
More than just fuel
Our role goes beyond manufacturing and supplying fuel. We work closely with our customers to understand their operations and provide practical support with fuel selection, compatibility, storage, delivery and sustainability reporting.
Our additional fuel management services include tank cleaning, fuel polishing, fuel sampling and analysis, installation audits and dynamic blend management. Together with dedicated stock management and proven nationwide logistics, these services help customers protect fuel quality, maintain reliable operations and manage their fuel supply with confidence.
20+ years of biodiesel expertise
We’ve been producing biodiesel since 2005 and were the first UK business to supply high-blend biodiesel on a commercial scale.

Argent Energy Group was founded in the UK but has, since then, become a truly European player with ambitions to decarbonise transport worldwide.
2001 – Establishment of Argent Energy

2005 – Production starts
Production starts at Motherwell site in Scotland Producing 55,000 tons per year
2008 Introduction of high (bio)blends
Introduction of high (bio)blends in the UK Supplying to bus and truck companies
2012 – Transport for London trials Argent Biodiesel
Transport for London trialled the use of Argent Energy’s biodiesel Resulting in the Mayor declaring his ambition that London buses should be running on B20 (20 percent biodiesel blends) by 2020
2013 Acquisition by John Swire and Sons
Acquisition by John Swire and Sons (Green Investments) Ltd
2016 – Stanlow site
Production starts at Stanlow site in the UK Producing 85,000 tons per year
2018 – Acquisition of Biodiesel Amsterdam
Acquisition of Biodiesel Amsterdam and the beginning of Argent’s international expansion, producing 100,000 tons per year
